The JKASH Leadership and Learning Academy and partner organization Curtis-Harris Education Foundation are Approved SHRM Recertification Providers that engages Professionals by delivering Activities that are eligible for PDCs which include seminars, workshops, college/university courses and conferences in instructor-led, virtual or self-paced formats.
Our SHRM Recertification program assist SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP®) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP®) credential-holders in obtaining Professional Development Credits required for order to maintain their credential. Credential-holders must demonstrate that they are staying current in the field and advancing their knowledge, skills and abilities in the profession by recertifying their SHRM Certification credential every three years. Recertification can be accomplished by earning 60 professional development credits (PDCs) or by retesting within a certified individual’s 3-year recertification cycle. A commitment to lifelong learning is a critical component of the SHRM Certification program and is required for SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP®) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP®) credential-holders in order to maintain their credential.
The SHRM Body of Competency and KnowledgeTM (SHRM BoCKTM) is the basis for the SHRM credentials. The SHRM BoCK describes the behavioral competencies and HR knowledge that HR professionals need for effective job performance.
The SHRM BoCK greatly expands the scope of professional development activities that will qualify for recertification credit. Because competencies are included in the SHRM BoCK, many educational programs not directly tied to human resource management will qualify for PDCs. For example, Leadership Programs build proficiency in the Leadership & Navigation Competency, courses in statistics expand capabilities in the Critical Evaluation Competency, and business education offerings promote the Business Acumen Competency. All would be eligible for PDCs. Broadening the scope of eligible recertification activities will help individual HR professionals strengthen their core skills, while contributing to a stronger HR profession.
